Question

Going over a bump at slow speed I hear a knock in the front end. Car is a 2000 M-Coupe. I have looked, wiggled and levered, but can’t see anything that is readily noticeable. Maybe sway bar end links???
Thanks,

Answer

Hello Mr. Georges, the noise could be the sway bar links or the front strut mounts. To diagnose the links just remove them and drive the car, if the noise is gone you have found the issue, if not it is likely the front strut mounts, bounce the front of the car by hand and listen for the sound, do it while the sway bar links are out, if you hear a noise then the mounts are bad. Thank you and good luck.
