Question

I have a 1997 BMW 740il and the automatic steering wheel doesn’t tilt up or down when turning off or on the ignition. the driver seat controls all work and also the steering wheel tilt lever is also working. Does it have to be re-programmed?

Answer

Hello Mr. Nikolov, that function is programmed with the buttons for the seat memory, try to program a seat position and see if that works, if it does not check to see if the fuse for the seat memory is good, if it is the only way to correctly diagnose it is with a BMW scan tool. I can help you with that issue if you live in the Fort Myers area, otherwise I can recommend someone near where you live. Thank you for the question.
