Question

I have a 2006 Z4 with 40k miles. It only gets a couple of thousand miles of driving each year. The rest of the time she sits in an un-air conditioned garage.
What is your recommendation for oil changes and brake fluid changes?
Thanks
Paul

Answer

Hello Paul, the brake fluid is done once a year regardless of mileage, that is true for any car, the issue with brake fluid is that it attracts water like a magnet and once you have water in the fluid you will get a soft brake pedal and the brake pipes and lines will degrade from inside out.

As far as the oil change with synthetic oil it should be done every 5000 miles or 6 months, in your case you should do it once a year, the reason being moisture in the oil over time and it will also start to break down. Thank you.
