Question

Purchased my first BMW a 2015 428i xdrive. I would like to convert the driver’s side exhaust to dual tailpipe exhaust (driver and passenger side tailpipes). I looked at Dinan, but their exhaust plus install would be close to $2000. I do have the template needed to cut a hole on the passenger side of the rear bumper. Any suggestions, thanks.

Answer

Hello Mr. Hoidahl, I would recommend having a body shop make the cut on the bumper as it is harder than it looks. As far as the exhaust, your best bet will be to have an exhaust shop make a custom rear exhaust section, you can buy the muffler that you like and the exhaust shop will take care of the piping and installation. I do not like to recommend specific exhaust systems as the sound they produce as well as the volume level varies greatly. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you.
